Don't Call it a Comeback.

Now is as bad a time as any. I've finally begun uploading Electric Sheep Comix to its new home at electricsheepcomix.com.

Let nobody mistake this for a "relaunch." This is a reboot, and will be a slow, ugly, grinding one at that. Everything is not up yet. Files need to be recovered and repaired. The legacy HTML all reeks of 1998 standards. I don't know when I'm going to get everything fixed and uploaded, let alone when I will complete your favorite story. But there's the new home, and to underscore how shitty, broken down, incomplete and primitive it all is, I've skinned the site in a prehistoric 2-bit CRT green. (Behold, children -- this is how those of us who grew up in the 1980s computed.)

What are you doing in Gresham?

Livejournal says I am in Gresham. Who am I to disagree?

Tell me where to send the money

Patrick: I think I remember offering $100 if you got this up and running again. You got a PayPal account?

Or . . . Gresham? I could run it out there on the Max in the form of a sack of Sacajawea dollar coins.

My PayPal link is still operational, even if the website isn't, fully. I can take payments at webmaster@electricsheepcomix.com.

BTW, Stefan, was that you at Trek in the Park the other weekend?

We're all happy to see this, regardless. Take your time. We'll wait.

I'm pretty sure your website skin is in 2 colors aka 1 bit, not 2 bits (4 colors).

I have paypalled some money as my penalty for making such a lame correction.

I appreciate the donation, and you're right, it is 1 bit. I was thinking "binary" and somehow that blitzed across my synapses and came out as "2 bit." Anyhow, thanks!

Somewhere on the list of "happiest things": Seeing a long-lost website come back to life. Usually they don't! Cause for great celebration.

WOO. It is glorious. I seriously want a tee shirt of that sheep graphic!

Since you asked so nicely:

Let me know if there's a specific color combination you'd like!

Are we supposed to be able to click on anything yet ? (apart from the Paypal button ?)

Or is it just the one page ?

The archives such as they are are accessible from http://www.electricsheepcomix.com/main.html

You can get there by clicking on the link above, or by clicking the PayPal button :-)

I ... had dreamed of this.

Awesome.

Now: if I want to commission custom art from you, is that something you're interested in?

-Marco

In theory yes, but given my overcommitment with the Secret Film Project and my fill-in for Jenn Lee's Dicebox, I don't think I'll have time for commissions before 2010. But I could be interested once my schedule clears up.

I'm utterly delighted by this, and can't wait for more.

YAY! So very glad to see this going back up! Donation capabilities are limited right now, but when I get out from under an impending trip I'll shoot something your way.

(My first computer? Monochromatic orange. Ahh, Tandy.)

I always heard the amber monitors produced less eye strain than green.

Whoo! Looks like I might not have to piece together scraps from the Internet Archive anymore. Hope everything's going well for you, and that Electric Sheep will be back soon and looking the way you want it.

The current look reminds me of the green-and-black Yamahas I started learning to code on. =)

Huzzah!

Hail the conquering blogger.

So very happy. Thanks for rebooting electric sheep!

I am so excited about this!

So good to see this back again! <3

Superb news, and that site design is great fun. Best of luck with the reboot, the web has been poorer without Electric Sheep.

I like the raw, jagged, sort-of-reboot. Has a bracing, punk feel. A digital palette-cleanser.

Welcome back!

It seemed the proper stylistic choice was to reset it at the summer of 1982 and work my way back up to 2010.

Yay! Can't wait to start evangelizing your work again.

And I feel oddly like I'm about to play Eamon.

Ha! I knew somebody would identify the source material sooner or later :-)

One bad quote mark in the middle of Chrysalis Colossus before Butterfly.

I knew that story well. It was called "The =>*Butterfly Effect."

Welcome back ;)!

I am so overjoyed at this reboot. Please let me know what I, as an unemployed marketing tool and devoted fangirl, can do to make you the rich and famous cartoonist that you so deserve to be!

I love the reboot look.

I hope that "Delta Thrives" will be back up, soon. One of my favorites, even (especially?) though I did cite it for my thesis.

I'm thrilled to see your new work over at Dicebox. Keep it up!

Sorry I can't be of anymore help by now than thanking you for your work and for sharing it again with the ppl. I googled so many times for this masterpiece to comeback! Keep it up, pls.

Hooray! It's good to see those again (albeit a couple months late, as I've been so busy with a house I hadn't even thought to try looking for them again).
