Mother of All Bombs: A few panels by Justine Shaw
"And if the Wachowski brothers had felt moved to protest the way things were going in America, then wouldn't it have been more direct to do what I'd done and set a risky political narrative sometime in the near future that was obviously talking about the things going on today?"
-- Alan Moore, speaking to MTV.
Okay, okay. Mr. Moore has successfully shoved a firecracker up my ass.
Some of you might remember that last year I started a graphic novel with Justine Shaw entitled Mother of All Bombs. We teased it out and started working on it in January 2005, but then disaster befell us each. I suffered an excruciating repetitive strain injury that's taken months to recover from. Justine discovered World of Warcraft. It was a tough year.
But now, I feel like a gauntlet's been thrown down. What this says about my artistic motivation, I don't know, but I do know it's time to finish and publish the damn thing. So, without making any promises or setting any deadlines that I know I'll miss anyway and be reminded about by bitchy fanboys, I'm announcing here that I'm officially back on the job. And, since I feel like a perfect shit for sitting on Justine's amazing artwork for over a year, here are a few panels-in-progress from book one, never before seen:
Note: These panels are in sequence but are not contiguous. Cheers!
